SCHOOL RULES & REGULATIONS
At M.G. Memorial School, we believe that a safe, respectful, and disciplined environment is the foundation of effective learning. Our rules are designed to instill self-discipline, responsibility, and good character in every student. All students and parents are expected to read and follow these guidelines sincerely to ensure harmony and excellence within the school community.
1. General Conduct
Students must always show respect, good manners, and kindness toward teachers, staff, visitors, and peers.

Respect for the Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, and student leaders is mandatory.

Students are expected to uphold the dignity of the school at all times, both inside and outside the campus.
Students must keep the school premises clean and handle books, furniture, laboratories, classrooms, and all school property with care. Littering, writing on desks or walls, and damaging property are strictly prohibited.
2. Attendance and Punctuality
Regular attendance and punctuality are vital for academic and personal growth.

Students must maintain at least 90% attendance in an academic year.

Any absence must be informed through the school diary or written note by the parent/guardian.

Attendance is compulsory on all school days, including co-curricular and special events.

Repeated late arrival may lead to disciplinary action or suspension.

Students must attend the full duration of each term. Leaving early requires prior permission from the Principal or Coordinator.
Absences for more than two days due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate. No re-examination or extra time will be given for missed tests unless approved by the school authority.
Parents should plan vacations strictly according to the school calendar.
3. Discipline and Behaviour
M.G. Memorial School follows a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline.

Students must maintain proper behavior at all times.

Parents will be informed through diary notes or official letters if a student violates rules.

Confiscated items can be collected by parents from the school office within three working days.
For serious offenses, the school may issue warning letters, assign corrective work, or suspend the student temporarily. Repeated or grave misconduct may result in expulsion.
Corporal punishment is strictly prohibited, but consistent discipline will be maintained through guidance and responsibility.
4. Misconduct and Inappropriate Behaviour
The following actions are considered misconduct and will invite disciplinary measures:

Violation of dress code (improper uniform, fancy jewelry, long nails, makeup, non-prescribed shoes/sweaters).

Disrespect toward teachers or failure to follow instructions.

Bringing unauthorized electronic gadgets or fancy accessories.

Misbehavior on school transport (arguing, damaging property, boarding wrong bus).

Uploading photos or videos of school activities on social media without permission.
5. Serious and Very Serious Offenses
Acts such as cheating, dishonesty, defiance, bullying, fighting, truancy, vandalism, theft, use of abusive language, and leaving school premises without permission are considered serious violations.
The school enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy toward bullying, cyber misconduct, or any act harming others’ dignity.
6. Disciplinary Actions
Depending on the severity of the misconduct, the following actions may be taken:

Boys must keep their hair short and tidy. Girls must tie their hair in ponytails or plaits.

Students are not allowed to wear the school uniform in public places outside school without prior approval.

Shouting, running in corridors, or throwing objects is strictly prohibited.

Any damage to school property must be reported immediately. The cost of repairs will be borne by the responsible student or class.
